Alfie

Hi there! I’m Alfie, I was born in Glasgow on the 30th of June 1957, yes that makes me a pensioner! lol.

I left school at 15 (Govan High) and had quite a few jobs, I worked as a warehouseman, a milkman, and a delivery driver. I got my HGV Class 1 when I was 21 and that was me now a fully-fledged Yorkie bar eating trucker.

After an accident that damaged my neck, and I was told I could not drive trucks again, I then started door-to-door sales of a very expensive vacuum cleaner.

After a couple of years passed I felt ok to go back to driving trucks, but could not earn enough working for someone else, so I started working as an owner operator doing Intrnational Haulage.

It was at this time I met Jutta, She used to arrange my return loads from Germany, and we got married in 2000.

It was much later that I got into Sailing and Boats. We moved onto the boat through necessity, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t like it we loved it!

We had a few problems with the boat and had to go to Germany for work hoping to come back soon, but it was financially impossible.

Our plan now was to come back with the little savings we had and get Waveney shipshape, move back on board, and continue our adventures.

I hoped the little money I receive from my pension (£567 per month) and perhaps a little more from making YouTube Videos would be enough, but it´s going to be difficult, I now realize I need a lot more YouTube viewers and they like my videos enough to become Patreons.
